Sorry for the lack of updates. In October 2018, I took part in the Micro-RPG Jam. In November, I got busy with NaNoWriMo (and I lost this year). Come Christmas and new year, I was busy travelling and seeing friends and family. I had been working to turn my Micro-RPG Jam entry into a more complete game, and I finally have time to finish it (a beta version of it anyway). You can download it on the game's itch.io page, or from Google Drive.
The Sol Survivor is a GM-less RPG/story telling game played using a deck of cards (optionally, with pen and paper for note taking and a six-sided die as a counter). The setting is inspired by Neil Gaiman's Stardust and Chinese mythology, with mechanics inspired by Lovecraftesque. As a group, you play as the lone sun who fell from the sky, finding their way back to the heavens. On the sun's journey, they will meet up with different spirits and monsters, some friends and some foes. Can the sun keep their faith on the world and themselves? Or will they give up and let the world plunge into eternal darkness?
I am not good at art or layout. My plan is to commission some portraits for the characters/creatures in the game, and probably pay someone to do the final layout for me. (Plan B is to learn Adobe InDesign, which may take a while.) Once I have completed the final version of the game, I will put it up on DriveThruRPG for pay what you want. I may even get the game printed out in actual cards if there is interest for it.
Thanks for reading. If you have feedback for my game, it would be deeply appreciated.
